Scene Controls

FXMaster creates an FXMaster Controls Scene Controls group for GMs. The Tool column below uses the labels and icons shown in Foundry.

Tool Purpose
FXMaster Tools Overview Opens the module overview with descriptions and videos for common tasks.
Particle Effects Opens Particle Effects Management to add, edit, duplicate, hide, and remove Scene particle rows.
Filter Effects Opens Filter Effects Management to add, edit, duplicate, hide, and remove Scene filter rows.
Manage Layers Opens Manage Layers to reorder Scene, Region, and API effects in the FXMaster compositing stack.
Manage API Effects Opens Manage API Effects to inspect and manage rows created by macros, presets, and integrations.
Save Particle and Filter Effects as Macro Captures the current Scene particle and filter configuration as an executable macro.
Clear Scene Particle and Filter Effects (Right-click: Disable Region Effects) Left-click clears Scene effects; right-click disables Region effects after confirmation.
Manage User Particle EffectsFXMaster+ only Opens User Particle Effects to create and edit custom particle definitions.
Manage Sound EffectsFXMaster+ only Opens Sound Effects Manager for environmental and token-movement sound rules.

The controls can indicate that Scene, Region, API, or SoundFX content is active. A control highlight means that the related runtime has an active effect.

The management tools are GM-facing. Players receive rendered effects according to their client setting and the world-wide safeguards configured by a GM.

Clear Scene Particle and Filter Effects (Right-click: Disable Region Effects)

Section titled “Clear Scene Particle and Filter Effects (Right-click: Disable Region Effects)”

The Clear Scene Particle and Filter Effects (Right-click: Disable Region Effects) control has two actions:

  • Left-click: Permanently deletes active Scene particle and filter rows after confirmation.
  • Right-click: Disables Region particle and filter effects without deleting the Region behavior definitions.

The global Disable Effects For Everybody setting is a recovery safeguard, not the normal way to clear a Scene.

Particle Effects Management, Filter Effects Management, Manage API Effects, Manage Layers, User Particle Effects, and Sound Effects Manager are separate applications. Keeping Manage Layers open beside the window that owns an effect can make a complex Scene easier to tune.
